Advanced diagnostics for solar and battery systems

The Conext™ ComBox is a powerful communication and monitoring device for installers and operators of Conext solar systems. It features an integrated web server, enabling graphical displays of system daily, monthly and lifetime energy data to be viewed using a simple web browser or Android tablet device. Installers can change or configure the settings of Conext devices through the user-interface on the ComBox and respond to system email alerts promptly. A user-configurable data logger and an integrated FTP server provide the system owner with powerful analytics tool for data download and analysis. Modbus™ interface on the ComBox links Conext devices with third-party systems through RS-485 or Ethernet ports. For large multi-cluster systems, the ComBox can be set up in a master-slave configuration. Conext™ ComBox easily connects with Conext™ Insight to enable you to remotely monitor a portfolio of sites from any internet connected device like a laptop or a tablet.

Security Notification – Schneider Electric is aware of a vulnerability in its Conext™ ComBox product. Please read this document for further information. Due to product limitations a firmware update will not be provided. We strongly recommend customers to consider upgrading to InsightHome or InsightFacility.

Customers should immediately apply the following mitigations to reduce the risk of exploit:

  • Limit traffic on the local network with managed switches
  • Do not grant network access to unknown computers
  • When remote access is essential, use secure methods such as Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and ensure the remote access solution(s), as well as the remote computer(s) are kept up to date with the latest security patches.
